On November 21st, our company delegation visited the Kansai BNCT Medical Center located in Japan, engaging in in-depth discussions with two core professors of the center, Professor Koji Ono and Professor Keiji Nihei.
The Kansai BNCT Joint Medical Center stands as a globally leading institution in BNCT (Boron Neutron Capture Therapy) treatment. It is the world's first medical center affiliated with an educational and research institution, having initiated clinical research in BNCT many years ago. Presently, the center possesses mature clinical BNCT treatment capabilities, particularly demonstrating significant efficacy in treating locally advanced or recurrent head and neck cancers.
During this visit, our company delegation toured the BNCT treatment center, which is equipped with state-of-the-art accelerator-based boron neutron treatment devices, as well as spacious and comfortable patient rooms and rehabilitation facilities. With detailed explanations from accompanying personnel, the delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the BNCT treatment process, outcomes, and more. Subsequently, the delegation engaged in extensive discussions with Professor Koji Ono and Professor Keiji Futamura of the Kansai BNCT Joint Medical Center. The professors provided detailed insights into their research achievements and practical experiences in the field of BNCT, sharing application experiences in Japan and their vision for advancing BNCT research and development.
The company delegation found this visit to be highly informative, deepening their understanding of BNCT technology, equipment, drugs, and clinical applications. Discussions were held on potential future collaborations, and both parties expressed their commitment to leveraging this visit as an opportunity to promote cooperation and exchange in the field of BNCT. The shared goal is to advance the global application of BNCT, benefiting a greater number of cancer patients.
